Whitland classic motor club was formed in July 2008. President of the club, Jeff Court, Of Station Garage has a varied knowledge of modern and classic vehicles. The latter being his passion.
We welcome all classic vehicles, should they be vintage or classic cars, Kit cars, Motorcycles, Lorries, buses or tractors.
Membership was set at £15. Per family and remains so today.
New members are always welcome whether they have a classic car, are
looking for one or just want to be part of our friendly group and come on
evening runs, enjoy great company and make fantastic memories whilst
raising money for charity.
Every two years we collectively choose a different charity to raise funds for.
So far we have supported;
- Macmillan Nursing
- West Wales air ambulance
- The Stroke Association
- Prostate Cancer Research
- CRY (Cardiac risk in the young)
We take part in the Whitlands annual carnival parade, with a trophy going to ‘Best car in show’ then on to a short run followed by a meal. We hold an annual run from Whitland Rugby Ground.
The Carmarthenshire County Run has proved to be an enjoyable experience, with people stating that it ‘Just gets better every year’ With the support of many local businesses generously donating raffle prizes to help raise even more funds for charity.
We hold our meeting on the last Thursday of every month at Whitland Rugby & Football club, King Edward street, Whitland at 8pm.
You are more than welcome to come along and join us to get a taste of what we are about, what run ideas members have put together, social evenings, bingo nights and more. Then hopefully decide to become a member.
